The 19th Heads of State and Government Summit of the Group of 20 (G20) will take place in November 2024 in Rio de Janeiro, marking Brazil's first term as the G20 rotating presidency as South America’s largest economy.

Ana Cristina Carvalho, Chair of the Tourism Association at Federation Chambers of Foreign Trade (FCCE) of Brazil, shared in an interview with China News Network that this year, which marks the 50th anniversary of Brazil-China diplomatic ties, has seen significant progress in bilateral relations. In particular, enhanced diplomatic relations have made travel between the two countries more accessible.

Ana further noted that this year’s G20 in Rio offers a comprehensive platform for participants to discuss topics such as health, education, and urban quality of life. Brazil looks forward to proposing and adopting initiatives at the G20, which will contribute to global development. (Hao Yunhui, Zhao Li)

叶澄衷少时家贫，不得不辍学前往上海当学徒，又驾舢板谋生于黄浦江上，他以诚信起家、艰辛创业，成为宁波商帮早期发迹上海的实业巨子。母亲教他“君子爱财，取之有道”，成为他一生恪守的信条。其晚年念及幼时失学之苦，在上海捐地出银创办澄衷蒙学堂，该学堂编印的《澄衷蒙学堂字课图说》自1901年初版后广为流布，胡适、茅盾、梁漱溟、丰子恺、竺可桢等人都以此书发蒙，他还在家乡镇海捐资兴办了叶氏中兴学堂，宁波商帮中的代表人物包玉刚、邵逸夫等都曾在这里接受启蒙教育。
